Lumineers®

Lumineers are one brand of porcelain veneers available today. Hendersonville cosmetic dentist Dr. Thomas F. Tomlo is licensed to apply Lumineers®, making them available to patients who are candidates. Unlike the porcelain veneers made in our office with our CEREC machine, Lumineers® are manufactured by Den-Mat in their California laboratories. This makes the process of placing Lumineers® longer than placing porcelain veneers created at our office.

How Lumineers® are Different from other Porcelain Veneers

Lumineers® are ultra-thin and easily placed. In some cases, they may not require your teeth to be ground down; and in some cases, they require less reshaping than traditional veneers. This makes Lumineers® ideal for people with teeth that are cracked or chipped, and helps provide additional strength for smiles with functional issues.

Patients who are interested in Lumineers® should be aware that they are created in a lab outside of our office, which means Dr. Tomlo has less control over their coloring and shaping. This may result in a final appearance that is not precisely matched to your natural tooth color. For this reason, Dr. Tomlo may recommend another type of thin porcelain veneer, which is exceptionally strong and can be precisely custom-shaded for you.

When you come to our office for your porcelain veneers consultation, Dr. Tomlo will carefully assess the structure and functionality of your natural teeth. While Lumineers® can be an ideal solution for some patients, they may not be right for you.
